A very busy past few weeks have seen not only a full council meeting, Labour group meetings and a surgery down at Smallthorne Community centre.
The Surgery on the 31st July was the first one I have done since being elected, I would have liked it to have been sooner but for one reason or another this couldn’t happen. Id like to say a massive thanks to Neil from Newford residents association for putting it all together, The community halls committee and Joan Walley our local MP for also coming down to meet the residents. Alongside the Surgery was a fantastic tabletop sale where the committee, East Valley action group, Smallthorne diamonds dance troupe and other residents were trying to raise money either for their causes or just for a few extra pennies.
I met with a lot of residents, more than I thought I would, and although there were many issues but the ones that stood out were…
• The replacement of the Smallthorne community centre floor.
• Kier and their management of social housing repairs.
• The back alleys of Smallthorne.
These will be my priority in Smallthorne over the next few months and I hope to update you on my progress in the next few weeks…
